Get puppy-ready with confidence

Online scams are on the rise. PetProov helps you verify sellers and protect your next pet purchase.

Puppy prep 101 – backed by Beco

Never pay without seeing the puppy

Scammers often use stolen or AI-generated images to advertise pets that don’t exist. They’ll avoid live video calls, ask for deposits upfront and disappear after payment.

Always insist on a live video call or in-person meet-up before paying anything.

Watch for unrealistic prices or pressure

If a price feels too good to be true – it probably is. Scammers use urgency to rush decisions: “I’ve had loads of interest – can you pay now to hold the puppy?”

Trust your instincts and avoid listings with vague details or pressure tactics.

Do your research – and verify it

Before you commit, check the breeder’s credentials, ask questions, and make sure the puppy’s environment is ethical and safe. A genuine seller will always be happy to share details.

Look for ID, proof of address, vet records and clear communication.
